MISSION
We guide and support children in vulnerable communities to develop necessary literacy skills. We guide children beyond the basics and prepare them for productive and meaningful lives.
KEY SERVICES PROVIDED
Beyond Basics is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to delivery of student-centered pre K-12 reading and literacy-enrichment programs. We get children reading at grade level in six weeks. We believe that Literacy Is For Everyone, and to accomplish this, we establish LIFE centers powered by Beyond Basics in school and afterschool locations to deliver our literacy programs. Three objectives guide our work enabling success: (1) deliver one-on-one reading instruction with certified tutors that empowers students to learn to read; (2) build vocabulary and comprehension through exposure to literacy enrichment activities; and (3) provide mentors for students.
