Our Recruitment
Tutor Training
The reading tutor position is contingent upon successful completion of the Beyond Basics certified reading tutor training program (valued at $1500 per applicant). Beyond Basics pays the cost for all tutors to receive this training and has a team of professionals to support new tutors during and after the training process.
Online Tutoring
Our tutors deliver the curriculum both in-person and online. Our online tutoring platform utilizes Microsoft Teams. All tutors are trained on how to operate and interact with learners using our system. Our online program results are on par with our in-person instruction.
Tutor Schedules on
Tutors must be available during school hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, and can work up to 30-35 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on school/student schedules, online tutoring, after-school tutoring, and availability.
Advancement Opportunities
Beyond Basics encourages staff development and promotion from within. Once a Reading Tutor completes at least one tutoring cycle, and has delivered exceptional student results, there may be opportunities to advance as a Program Manager (overseeing the tutoring program at each location or online) and/or an administrative position.
