“The Detroit Sports Commission on Monday was set to announce a $1 million pledge to ensure the 2024 NFL Draft leaves a legacy benefit for Detroiters. The “living legacy” funds will help to address the youth literacy gap in the city and the creation of active play and recreation opportunities for local youth, the DSC said.
The community benefit program supporting those needs will begin next year when the NFL Draft comes to town April 25-27, but also continue with other sporting events coming to the city through the 2027 NCAA Men’s Final Four basketball tournament at Ford Field and beyond, according to the Detroit Sports Commission, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Visit Detroit, the city’s convention and visitors bureau.”
